Welcome to the Pittwater Tigers Auskick 2022 season. Our Auskick coaches and managers will be confirmed soon. Below is some general information about how we will run this season.
Pittwater Tigers Auskick program
Pittwater Tigers program supports the principles of the AFL Auskick program including; introducing the kids to the game, helping develop fundamental motor skills and an opportunity to get parents to interact with their children in a positive, fun and social environment.
Pittwater Tigers is an inclusive family club that encourages participation and involvement from parents, grandparents and community members so please don’t be shy to share in the fun!
Registration costs include an exclusive Auskick Pack (ball, bag, stickers, cards etc).
The uniform is encouraged to help the kids feel part of a team and identify who their team members are on game day. If you are experiencing problems purchasing uniform, boots etc. Please discuss as we just want kids to show up and join in the fun.
|Jumper:||Jumpers are supplied and need to be returned at the end of the season|
|Socks and shorts:||Need to be purchased via the uniform shop which the children then keep|
|Boots:||Boots are optional purchase (runners completely fine)|
|Mouthguard||Optional and can be purchased from our club supporter|
Wednesday night is the ‘training’ night 4:30pm – 5:30pm. Our home ground is North Narrabeen Reserve Walsh St, Nth Narrabeen. Parents are encouraged to help supervise, lend a hand to Nigel and join in the fun. Training night is made up of warm up games, drills/skills and then short game time.
Training and game day is relaxed and casual. It’s important that no child is excluded or kept on the boundary line. We encourage them all to join in and have a go. We also encourage fair play and positive interaction between the kids.
At the end of the game, the kids form a big team circle and sing the little hearts out to the Tigers team song. It is attached for your reference.
Sunday morning is ‘game’ day 8:30am – 9:30am. Please refer to attached draw that dictates the location of game day. Most games are played at ‘home’ with a few games ‘away’ at other Auskick grounds.
Game day is when we typically ‘verse’ another team (or ourselves which is the case of most weeks due to limited number of other Auskick teams). Game day is made up of a short warm up, short drills/skills and then longer game time.
The team song is sang on game day also.
This season for the first time Pittwater Tigers will field an U8’s team within Auskick. The drawer is available under Fixtures & Results on the website. Run from Round 4 the aim of the competition is to extend older Auskickers and children experienced in competitve team sports. Training is held within the Auskick Sessions from 4.30pm – 5.30pm Wednesday’s at Tigerland.
In the event of ‘wet weather’ the home ground will be closed by Pittwater Council. Typically the Coach or Manager will text and advise however, we encourage you to check either the Wet Weather Check website or the Pittwater Council website.
The club runs a canteen on ‘Game’ day when there is a home game scheduled for a number of teams across the junior club. Coffee/Tea is sold and a BBQ will be available.
From time to time, Auskick parents will be asked to support the canteen and volunteer an hour to set-up/run the BBQ etc. It will be an hour before the game so 7.30am and you will be rostered on via email.
Pittwater Junior AFL club has a Facebook page Pittwater Junior AFL club This is an excellent resource that keeps us up to date and involved with the junior club, we encourage you to ‘like’ the page and share with family and friends.
The Team Manager will take pics of the team and have them posted to the page from time to time. If you do not wish your child to be photographed or feature on Facebook, please contact us accordingly.
